I’ve just pledged to this great Kickstarter – here’s what it’s about:

Created, scripted, pencilled, inked, and lettered by Bristol-based illustrator, Danny J. Weston, Dolphin Squad are a satirical superhero team in the vein of Biker Mice From Mars, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with a tone similar to Asterix.

You could call it our love letter to Silver Age comics. Their exploits are family friendly and filled with fish puns, yet contain plenty of action, adventure and pop-culture references to entertain the most die-hard of nerds. To get an idea about the style, you can download Heroes of the Sea for free during this campaign.

This volume is a 72 page oversized (inspired by European Bande dessinée style comics like Tintin and Asterix) full-colour graphic novel, and you won’t need to have read any of the other stories first (though you’re welcome to do so!) making this great for new and returning readers alike.

The Dolphins are:

• Lazer-Eye – A former member of S.E.A.W.O.R.L.D., Lazer-Eye is the leader of Dolphin Squad. Raised from an early age as a military operative, they’re a highly trained and effective strategist with a strong moral compass and have (you guessed it) a cybernetic eye capable of analysing their surroundings and shooting laser beams. 
• Vinny – The world’s angriest dolphin. Relentless, formidable in fin-to-fin combat, looks great in a lumberjacket. 
• Fabian – Where Vinny and Lazer-Eye are the brawn and brains of Dolphin Squad, Fabian is their heart and holds the team together. He’s also a tech-wizard: if it involves disarming bombs, hacking into computer networks, or remembering obscure trivia from forgotten TV shows, Fabian’s your dolphin! The only thing Fabian can’t seem to do is learn human language.

Obviously, Dolphin Squad: Origins is the main reward available for this campaign. It’ll be available as a physical copy, and also as an ebook (in .pdf and .epub formats). The reward tiers are:
